Welcome to Kitty's Loft for high quality self-catering accommodation on the Isle of Wight.

Kitty's Loft, is part of a hamlet of seven privately owned converted barns and is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The original dwellings are believed to date back to Domesday times, (1086). Conversion of the farm buildings, to very high specifications, began in early 1980.

Situated in a quiet country lane on the south of the island, two and a half miles from the sea as the crow flies, Kitty's Loft nestles at the foot of St Catherine's Down.

Godshill, Isle of Wight from the west

Close by is Godshill, one of the prettiest villages on the island, where Queen Victoria called at the then Royal Essex Inn, (now renamed the Woods Kitchen), for afternoon tea on her way to Osborne House.

The county town of Newport is seven miles away and provides a wide variety of large shops, a multiplex cinema, supermarkets, restaurants etc.

The seaside towns of Shanklin and Ventnor are just 20 minutes by car. However, the wilder part of the coastline on the south of the island, is a favourite with walkers and fossil hunters for its superb coastal paths and numerous picturesque beaches. Just beyond Chale, you can be dazzled by the truly stunning views of Freshwater Cliffs. The famous Needles are situated at Alum Bay where you can take a breathtaking chair-lift down to the beach or even take a boat trip to get a closer look.

You'll adore the Isle of Wight, with its quiet country roads, the sub-tropical micro-climate enjoyed by the south of the island and the rolling countryside. We, our Golden Retriever and 2 cats, look forward to welcoming you at Kitty's Loft.
